What is the opportunity?
We are seeking Data Analysts (including but not limited to the following: Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, Data Team Co-Op) to join the RBC Wealth Management Team. If you are passionate to learn about data engineering and data products delivery practices, please read on.
What will you do?
- Assist in the development and delivery of data product solutions including building, customizing, and management of data pipelines, data integration tools, databases, data warehouses, and analytical systems.
- Produce technical artifacts to document solution designs and operational guidelines.
- Support testing requirements for data products and services including testing automation.
- Support the development and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders using our software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Increase awareness of the Advanced Analytics capabilities: to experiment with NLP capabilities on feature mining and retrievals.
- Performing research and providing answers for customer generated inquiries.
- Documenting processes or upgrading existing procedure manuals.
- Process security, product and employee set up on Eagle system.
- Review data quality monitors daily and address data quality issues with data stakeholders.
- Analyze data and data workflows to improve data quality.
- Update and organize DMO’s Connect and Confluence (intranet) pages.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
- Have a strong quantitative background, a degree in math/statistics/computer science/engineering would be a plus.
- Experience working with SQL and large data sets and knowledge of AWS, cloud computing, or similar storage solutions.
- Experience in writing high quality code using general-purpose programming languages. Python is a strong asset.
- Familiar with Kubernetes, Docker and containerization technologies and strong Unix/Linux/Bash scripting skills.
- Experience working with DevOps CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Experience working within professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes and testing.
- Desire to learn data capabilities such as data management, data governance, data mastering, data quality, data literacy, etc.
- Desire to learn data business intelligence tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau).
Nice to have:
- Great communication skills. Team player with the ability to work with a diverse group and offshore team.
- Must be a self-starter, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functional areas.
- Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written).

- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully.
