Work Arrangement:

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Oshawa Elevation Centre on a full-time basis.

The Role:

Global Facilities in Canada provides facilities engineering, construction, and utility services to the Canadian manufacturing and non-manufacturing sites. This position is for one pioneering student currently enrolled in the third or fourth year of Electrical Engineering. You will provide valuable experience and gain direct exposure to facilities engineering. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual who will assist us in creating success for themselves and the corporation! The role will entail a close working relationship with Facilities Engineering personnel as well.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of facilities projects (ex. HVAC, Building, Fire Protection, Roofing, Electrical Distribution, etc.) as directed by the team leader.
  • Provide on-site review, inspections, and reports of work in progress.
  • Provide data analysis, research, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate scheduled field activities with all affected parties.
  • Update drawing inventory in AutoCAD or other programs.
  • Perform field condition surveys; incorporate data into the drawing package.
  • Support special tasks and projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree (3rd and 4th year students) in one of the following areas: Electrical Engineering.
  • Enrolled in a qualifying Ontario co-operative education or internship program.
  • Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week in Canada, and 16-month term (4 consecutive semesters) starting May 2024.
  • Willing to work in a plant environment.
  • Have a valid Full Class G Ontario Driver’s Licence, or equivalent Canadian out-of-province licence.
  • Solid understanding of AutoCAD.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Highly adaptable and able to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Fundamental computer skills including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in MS Access.
