Job description

As a Kite Surfing Instructor at Hawar Resort by Mantis, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in kitesurfing, wing foil, and windsurfing to both adults and children. Your role involves not only teaching practical and theoretical skills but also promoting the enjoyment of water sports through engaging sessions and events. You will contribute to the safe, fun, and professional operation of the watersports center by ensuring safety standards, equipment care, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Instruction & Coaching: Deliver structured and engaging kitesurfing, windsurfing, and wing foil lessons to individuals and groups of varying skill levels.
  2. Training & Development: Conduct both theoretical and practical watersports training sessions aligned with international standards.
  3. Event Coordination: Organize and oversee kitesurfing and watersport events to promote guest participation and enhance the guest experience.
  4. Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and emergency procedures during all activities.
  5. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Adventure & Activities team to coordinate programs, schedules, and guest bookings.
  6. Equipment Management: Monitor and maintain all watersports equipment, ensuring proper storage, reporting any damages or maintenance needs.
  7. Guest Engagement: Deliver outstanding customer service by assisting guests with information, demonstrating techniques, and ensuring a fun, safe environment.
  8. Reporting: Keep accurate records of sessions, equipment usage, and incident reports as required.
  9. Brand Representation: Represent the resort professionally, promoting its watersports offerings and maintaining high guest satisfaction.
  10. Support: Assist other team members and participate in resort activities as needed to support overall operations.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  1. Education: Graduate in Recreation, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
  2. Certifications: Certified as a Kite Surf Instructor Level 1 or 2 from IKO, VDWS, or BKSA.
  3. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a watersports operation, with proven delivery of at least 2 full kite surf sessions.
  4. Skills: Ability to teach kitesurfing, wing foil, and windsurfing confidently to guests of all levels.
  5. Health & Safety: Must hold valid First Aid and CPR certifications.
  6. Communication: Strong verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
  7. Personality: Energetic, professional, team-oriented, and passionate about adventure and guest service.
  8. Other: Comfortable working outdoors in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
