Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Apply expert knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies, military system specifications, and computer security best practices to secure Navy systems.
2. Support the implementation of Risk Management Framework (RMF), including boundary defense, A&A packages, and continuous monitoring.
3. Configure and manage IA-enabled appliances, including Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Routers/Switches, Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), ESS, and related technologies.
4. Perform STIG implementation, configuration hardening, and compliance validation.
5. Conduct vulnerability assessments using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and ensure mitigation via patching and secure configuration.
6. Implement vendor security patches across Linux and Windows operating systems to remediate vulnerabilities.
7. Maintain and update RMF documentation in eMASS, including test plans, security controls assessments, POA&Ms, and supporting artifacts.
8. Support cybersecurity requirements specific to the National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC) and TSCE Program, including ship installation protocols and mission-specific cybersecurity integration.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

1. A combined total of 10 years of full-time professional experience across the following:
2. Computer security, military systems, and DoD cybersecurity policy execution.
3. Understanding of NCRC and TSCE Program requirements, including Navy shipboard cybersecurity protocols.
4. RMF implementation and use of IA appliances such as Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Routers/Switches, Cross Domain Solutions, eMASS, and ESS.
5. Application and validation of STIGs and secure configurations.
6. Conducting vulnerability scans using ACAS.
7. Remediating findings with vendor patches on Linux and Windows OS platforms.

Certifications:

1. DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level III (One of the Following):
2. CASP+ CE
3. CCNP Security
4. CISA
5. CISSP (Associate)
6. GCED
7. GCIH
8. CCSP

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering

Clearance:

Must possess a Secret clearance (IT Level I Tier 5 / Special-Sensitive Position)
