Job description

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the stewarding team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and cleanliness standards are met
  • Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
  • Coordinate with the culinary team to ensure efficient workflow and timely support in food preparation
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and place orders when necessary
  • Train and develop stewarding staff on proper cleaning procedures and safety protocols
  • Ensure compliance with health and sanitation regulations
  • Handle any stewarding-related issues or complaints effectively and promptly
  • Conduct regular inspections to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate events and special functions
  • Prepare reports on stewarding activities and highlight areas for improvement or optimization

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in stewarding or a related field
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Desired Experience:

  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a stewarding team
  • Experience working in a standalone concept or upscale dining environment
  • Knowledge of inventory management and ordering processes
  • Familiarity with kitchen operations and equipment
