Job Description:
Equans Offshore division in Hoboken is looking for a Project Manager (Offshore Wind).
In this role, you manage a project from tender handover to taking over by the client. You lead the project team for on- and offshore activities, consisting of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction team. You are responsible for planning, preparation, and execution of the works, including HSSE compliance, cost, and schedule.
Your team consists of various groups in a matrix organization. You coordinate the overall project plan and monitor all project-related activities to ensure they meet the agreed HSE, budget, contractual terms, and quality required for delivery to the client, in line with the division's targeted business objectives.
The job in detail:
- HSE: Execute activities safely; lead HSE in the project, implement standards, and ensure consistency in the business unit.
- Quality: Control inspection strategy and plans; drive closure before sail out to ensure delivery of unmanned offshore projects with a minimum 5-year warranty.
- Integrate project activities: Optimize activities between JV partners and the wider team, manage daily priorities, and resolve issues.
- Team management: Lead the project team formed from matrix staff, plan resources, and integrate subcontractors and co-workers efficiently.
- Client relations: Manage customer/stakeholder relationships throughout project execution.
- Contract compliance: Analyze technical specifications and drive closure within an optimal commercial and timing window.
- Documentation & progress reporting: Ensure baseline schedule is built and monitor progress reporting.
- Risk control: Identify risks during the project phase and implement actions to control them.
- Cost management: Responsible for financial results, manage cost through rigorous control.
- Offshore works: Manage offshore works in terms of schedules and manning levels, ensuring compliance with local rules and regulations.
- Learn: Support lessons learned and incident investigations to improve future projects.
What do you need?
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, marine engineering, or a comparable discipline.
- Knowledge and experience (+5 years) in offshore or electrical projects.
- Extensive experience in offshore electrical/mechanical engineering.
- Experience in managing contracts, FIDIC preferred.
- Broad general technical knowledge, specialized in electricity and instrumentation.
- Affinity with piping or mechanical systems.
- Hands-on mentality with a willingness to take up a broad range of activities.
- Ability to analyze data and create high-quality solutions.
- Ability to manage and direct technicians/subcontractors.
- Dynamic, enthusiastic, intrinsically motivated, and no 'nine-to-five' mentality.
- Excellent communication skills: English & Dutch; knowledge of French and/or German is an added value.
