Job description

Company Description

Welcome to Ability Action Australia!

We are one of the largest providers to the NDIS, supporting over 10,000 participants every year with the care they need, when and where it is needed. We have a multi-disciplinary team approach, building a quality support service around the needs and goals of our participants and their family.

Help us help others with life changing support that can improve their independence, access, development, health and wellbeing, and function.

Job Description

We would love to welcome an experienced and dynamic Senior Occupational Therapist eager to be part of a multidisciplinary team and make a difference. You’ll bring expertise, maturity and strong time management and organisational skills to the role.

The successful candidate will be providing supports to cover NDIS participants living in the following areas (depending on where you live): Wollongong, North Wollongong, South Wollongong & surrounding areas.

We will provide you with a bucket load of structured supervision, mentoring and CPD opportunities. We promise to invest in you, so you can thrive in our fast-paced, energetic, and fun workplace. No two days are ever the same! You might find us in childcare centres, schools, aged care facilities, day programs, the community, homes, and/or our clinic space. We have regular team meetings, team building events and enjoy a fun and dynamic work environment where all teams have the opportunity to grow and learn together.

On a personal level, we are a dynamic bunch of clinicians who exude a passion for disability. We want to see the best in each other, just as we do our participants. We have been known to go on long beach walks, test out our new technology or have a wine at a paint and sip, or the local pub. Babies, including fur babies, are always welcome in the office and are part of the team. Whether you are keen on coming out and spending time as a team, or your family life and home is your priority – there is a place for everyone!

Responsibilities

  • Manage an allocated caseload (based on your negotiated hours) and deliver timely therapeutic services.
  • Assess participants’ developmental, cognitive, emotional, psychological and physical function and capacity through clinical observations and standardised assessments.
  • Interpret findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each participant.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help participants enhance their quality of life and meet their goals.
  • Mentor and nurture early career clinicians.
  • Maintain awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance.

What's in it for you?

As you support many, we support you. We offer:

  • Work flexibility – From 24 hours a week to full time, you select the hours and days that work best for you as an individual.
  • Excellent remuneration – Industry leading salary + salary packaging + car allowance + laptop + smartphone + purchased leave + bonus opportunities.
  • True work-life balance – The autonomy of setting your calendar, your way. Combine the convenience of working from home with time at our supportive hubs.
  • Career progression – Access to ongoing training tailored to your interests and long-term goals combined with professional development opportunities through Ability Action Australia and our parent company, MedHealth.
  • Continuous Professional Development – A generous CPD allowance and paid leave days to complete this.
  • Passionate and positive culture – Be part of a purpose-driven team that believes in your development and in making a difference.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload.
  • A pro-active attitude and interest in continually developing your skills.
  • Experience in mentoring and supervising other Occupational Therapists.
