The Role
We are seeking a Project Manager with experience in luxury apartments to be the construction Project Manager for the Shafston Estate Project. You will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of the project including the refurbishment of the various heritage buildings across the site including Shafston House. The role includes managing the various stakeholders, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with the relevant codes and standards are achieved with a strong focus on safety and quality.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Coordination: Develop and manage a detailed construction management plan and Construction program understanding the site constraints to achieve the project objectives.
- Safety: Establish a strong safety culture onsite through the use of digital platforms, processes and our independent safety consultant.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Establish a project forecast against the Contract cost plan and continue to manage and track costs against the established budgets with the project team.
- Procurement & Subcontractor Management: Oversee the subcontractor letting and material procurement process to ensure scope coverage and target budgets are achieved.
- Quality Control: Drive the quality standards during planning and construction by establishing quality control processes and undertake regular inspections.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and manage any changes in scope or design.
- Team Leadership: Lead and supervise the construction team, providing guidance and support to create a productive work environment.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main point of contact between the various stakeholders and the project team. Provide regular updates on progress, risks/issues, and changes to project scope or schedule.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety standards and building codes. Manage the submittal and approval process for authority compliance requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly PCG and cost reports for senior management providing a detailed status of the project and identify any changes to the scope, program or budget.
- Project Completion: Oversee project closeout activities, including final inspections, punch lists, and client handover.
- Post Completion: Manage the timely close out of defects and provide status updates to senior management.
The Successful Candidate Will
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in construction project management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Education: It is preferred that you have a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or comparative Construction diploma.
- Certifications: Hold an Open QBCC Supervisors licence or meet all qualifications requirements to gain your supervisors licence.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft project, Jobpac) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
- In-depth understanding of safety protocols and regulations in construction.
