Visiting Medical Officers – GP Obstetrics, Anaesthetics, Emergency, and General Medicine.
Located only 45 minutes from Tamworth Airport with a population of around 13,000, Gunnedah is a vibrant community with a range of opportunities for both individuals and families. Gunnedah District Hospital offers a variety of services to the local community, with Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital being the main referral pathway for services that can’t be offered on site. The hospital offers services such as community health, emergency, general medicine, obstetrics, and day surgery, and is about to undergo a major redevelopment.
We are currently seeking General Practitioners to work as Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs) with or without specialty privileges to help care for our patients locally.
The provision of contemporary, comprehensive and professional specialist services that are safe, effective, evidence-based, and patient-centered.
A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the RACGP/ACRRM/RACP and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
Evidence of being a medical expert, demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in General Practice.
Evidence of being a scholar, maintaining medical professional development and having the ability to assist other staff, including trainees, in the acquisition and development of knowledge.
Evidence of being a skilled communicator, including both oral and written skills, communicating with patients, students, other health professionals, and the public.
Evidence of being a collaborator, including the ability to network and operate within an interdisciplinary framework and to work with other stakeholders in a variety of settings.
Evidence of being a manager, including the ability to be flexible and cope with a changing health system, past leadership and management experience, and previous safety and quality improvement activities.
Evidence of being a professional, including continued professional development, peer review, and other forms of clinical governance.
Evidence of being an advocate, including contributions to improving individual and societal health.
