This is a permanent part-time (0.4 FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2025.

For over 50 years, Wickham Primary School has offered a quality education for our Kindergarten to Year 6 students. We value a safe, friendly, and inclusive learning environment for staff, students, and their families, respecting the strong cultural history of the Ngarluma people.

Our highly experienced staff build solid relationships with students and parents by implementing our whole-school positive behaviour support program of High Expectations, Respect for all and Safety.

The Role

As a Gardener - Handyperson, you will be responsible for maintaining and presenting our school grounds in an attractive, clean and tidy manner. The successful applicant will be tasked with gardening duties, grounds and facility management and various other duties as outlined in the Job Description Form below to ensure a safe, vibrant and clean school environment.

The Gardener - Handyperson will work to provide gardening, grounds and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. You will also be responsible for maintaining and providing a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management. The successful applicant will perform minor repairs and maintenance as requested, as well as other Gardener - Handyperson’s duties using safe work practices and in accordance with the Department's policies and guidelines.

Eligibility

To work with us, you will need to:

  1. obtain a valid Working With Children Check
  2. consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
  3. be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
