Transportation of patient to and from the radiology department utilizing proper body mechanics and ensuring patients safety in accordance with the hospital and department policies. Has knowledge of the needs of patients according to their age group and ability to modify care according to patient’s age.
Communicating with patient in a courteous manner informing them of procedure to be performed and mode of transportation. Identification of self and department when transporting patient.
Educational level: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Certification/Licensure - Current BLS: Required
Working Conditions:
Extensive walking, standing, pushing and/or lifting medium to heavy weight.
Exposure Category I: Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues: All procedures or other job-related tasks that involve inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood, body fluids or tissues, or a potential for spills or splashes of them are Category I tasks. Use of appropriate protective measures should be required for every employee engaged in Category I tasks.
