Corrections Psychologist

On behalf of Queensland Corrective Services, Henderson Healthcare is looking for multiple dedicated Psychologists to work with the incarcerated population across multiple Prisons in QLD.

About the Role:

As a Psychologist with QCS, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality psychological services to men and women in correctional centers. From conducting risk assessments to delivering interventions and promoting mental health, your work will contribute directly to the rehabilitation and well-being of individuals under your care.

Details:

• $100p/h + Super and any additional needs you require (travel reimbursements, accommodation etc.)
• Choose your location - Woodford Correctional Centre (Woodford), Southern Queensland Correctional Centre (Gatton), Capricornia Correctional Centre (Rockhampton) or Townsville Correctional Centre (Townsville)
• Accommodation and Travel Provided if needed
• Full time engagements required
• 12-week contracts (with potential to extend)

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Conducting risk assessments, intake assessments and clinical evaluations
• Providing individualised case management and intervention strategies
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
• Delivering training sessions and psycho-education programs

Role Fit:

We are looking for candidates who have Adult Mental Health experience and an interest in working with prisoners. You must demonstrate expertise in evidence-based assessment and intervention, possess strong communication skills, and have a commitment to continuous professional development.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in psychology or behavioral science
• Generally Registered Psychologist with AHPRA
• Compliance with registration standards and regulation
