Senior Property Lawyer

Legalite is a multi-award-winning, full-service commercial law firm committed to delivering Simplified and Strategic Advice.

We have a unique opportunity for a senior property lawyer to join our rapidly growing property team, working with well-known brands, including institutional landlords, ASX listed companies, major tenants, franchise networks, and large and boutique property developers. This role is available for immediate start and can also be part-time if desired.

About you

We would love to hear from senior lawyers who can display the following skills and experience:

1. Property sales and acquisitions (primarily commercial), including contract and vendor’s statement preparation, reviews, negotiation and conveyancing.
2. Property development, including the preparation and negotiation of off-the-plan contracts of sale, and managing a development from pre-sale stage through to settlement.
3. Commercial, industrial, and retail leasing for both large and small landlords and tenants, including preparing, reviewing and negotiating complex Agreements for Lease.
4. Option deeds and development management agreements.
5. Advising on easements, covenants, and other property encumbrances, restrictions and rights.
6. Basic advice around land transfer duty and other property taxes.
7. Experience with PEXA and SPEAR.
8. Opportunity to support our commercial team with overflow commercial work, if desired and/or experienced.

We’ll be straight with you. We pay very well, but we’re not going to compete with the top-tiers on salary. But what we can compete on, is culture.

We don’t have billable hours or individual budgets. The team all work together towards a team monthly budget. Not having billable hours has a huge impact on our culture more broadly – one that is collaborative, supportive, and less stressful.

We are genuinely flexible. Our head office is located in Melbourne, however we have team members in QLD, NSW and you can work remotely, from an office, or hybrid.

We rarely work past 5:30pm.
