Project Overview:
Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.
Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.
Job Summary:
Bechtel is seeking a Senior Control Systems and Instrumentation (CS&I) Engineer for the Mining & Metals team, based in Brisbane, Australia. This role will report to the Control Systems & Instrumentation Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS), and they will be responsible for the design and specification of general instrumentation, valves and DCS/PLC based control systems. The role will provide CS&I engineering and design support to Bechtel projects seamlessly and with high quality.
This position is designated a part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with function or project leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10 – 13 years of relevant experience
Experience with functional safety system and TUV certification is highly regarded.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
A degree in engineering, demonstrated experience and CPEng status and current RPEQ.
Demonstrated experience in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering
Excellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply with the safety requirements.
Demonstrated design and engineering experience in the processing plant or oil and gas industries.
Have current knowledge of industry or regulatory standards and study criteria pertinent to instrumentation and control systems engineering ensuring compliance of design work with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients.
Smart Instrumentation experience is favourable
