Project Delivery Team Leader - Solar/Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Location: Brisbane or Perth (location is flexible). Ability to travel to the project sites will be essential as required.

Energy Decarb is a developer of Behind the Meter decarbonisation projects for business customers and large-scale residential projects. Energy Decarb is also the distributor of StB Gigafactory batteries in Australia.

Energy Decarb provides integrated decarbonisation solutions to commercial and industrial customers, including solar PV, batteries, public and workplace EV charging, optimisation hardware and software, and behind the meter energy management services.

As we expand our operations, we are seeking an experienced Delivery Team Leader to join our team and manage key project delivery primarily in Queensland and Western Australia.

Role Overview

As a driven, detail-oriented Delivery Team Leader, you will have proven experience and a comprehensive understanding of a diverse range of C&I and/or residential scale renewables (solar and wind) and batteries. This role will focus on the design, build and installation of solar power systems and BESS solutions for complex projects.

Your leadership and ability to problem-solve will be critical in ensuring successful project delivery. You will be managing the installation program from inception to completion according to strict deadlines, within budget and aligned with business priorities.

Key Responsibilities / Job Functions

• Lead and implement delivery of projects, ensuring alignment with project plans, scope and timelines and working closely with the Sales team to meet client objectives.
• Manage the installation of solar infrastructure components and BESS solutions to optimise energy supply, generation, energy management and demand flexibility.
• Perform technical due diligence including module, battery and equipment supply contracts on each project.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Delivery team; and to the Sales function as required.
• Manage stakeholder, sub-contractor and supplier relationships, as appropriate.
• Identify and provide training, coaching and support to individuals in the Delivery team.
• Identify likely problems and proactively take preventative measures to mitigate and avoid potential delivery risks and delays in order to maintain project momentum.
• Ensure delivery adherence to engineering standards and best practice guidelines.
• Present project updates and reports to senior management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Electrical preferred).
• Minimum 7 years’ experience as a project owner, in the consultancy environment or as a project engineer.
• Solar/BESS experience highly desirable, especially behind the meter renewables for C&I premises.
• Knowledge of project financial management, forecasting, procurement, design and contracts management functions.
• Proficiency in project management tools and systems (ie. Microsoft Suite including Microsoft Project, Excel, SharePoint or equivalent).

• Highly motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
