Reporting to our Head of Technology, this role is for someone with expertise and experience in the technology (B2B and B2C) space; for someone in possession of a strategic, curious mindset; and a motivated, energetic entrepreneurial spirit who can help target, hunt and win new business.

What You’ll Do
As an Account Director you will create, manage, and execute PR campaigns with media, influencers, and audiences on behalf of our clients. This position will be responsible for a significant component of the communications program targeting the client’s customers and target audience. This includes partnering with clients to define and evolve the future of our ongoing storytelling program, including alignment to the broader communications and marketing efforts. The Account Director is responsible for day-to-day client management and satisfaction, serving as the point of strategic integration and counsel for the team. This position will manage, plan, and execute earned and owned media programs.

Client Champion

  1. Responsible for the strategic direction and growth of client accounts and overseeing the day-to-day management of accounts.
  2. Manage client account budgets and the business unit’s overall financial performance, including achieving set minimum business targets.
  3. Independently manage client issues and negotiations and be responsible for organic client growth.
  4. Responsible for delivering, without supervision, client service that is consistent with We.’s standards.
  5. Lead development of client proposals and plans, including strategy development.
  6. Provide excellent PR writing and services, including superior editing skills.
  7. Provide overall strategic direction and advice for the management and implementation of media and PR campaigns.
  8. Have superior knowledge of all media facets and a well-developed network of national media contacts.
  9. Leverage available connections to help drive new business, securing opportunities to submit proposals or pitch, to ultimately to support winning the business.
  10. Use presentation skills and confidence to autonomously lead the team in new business presentations.
  11. Contribute to the promotion and growth of the company through new business ideas and processes.

Team Dynamo

  1. Set clear tasks and use excellent coaching and leadership skills.
  2. Participate in the recruitment and retention of team members if required.
  3. Ensure that business unit members uphold all policies and procedures.
  4. Mentor and manage junior staff and contribute positively to the agency’s culture.
  5. Conduct staff reviews with the Head of the team.
  6. Oversee the management of all business unit projects.

Revenue Rockstar

  1. Play your role in ensuring efficiency and profitability for the business unit.
  2. Help achieve financial and growth targets set with the Head of Technology & team.

You’ll need to have

  1. Undergraduate or postgraduate studies in public relations, marketing or equivalent and / or minimum 8 years related industry experience.
  2. Strong oral, writing, and editing skills.
  3. Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to supervise and motivate the work of the team.
  6. Ability to handle and navigate tricky situations.
  7. Superior negotiation and conflict management skills.
  8. Ability to multitask and manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  9. Strong ability to develop and deliver presentations and pitches to clients.
  10. Ability to think creatively.
  11. Ability to plan strategically and globally.
  12. Ability to write strategic materials for clients.
  13. Understand the financial aspects of the business.
  14. Proficient in computer software.
