The mine is located on the Norseman-Wiluna Greenstone Belt, which forms part of the Yilgarn Craton in Western Australia. It is a highly mineralised granite-greenstone terrain with world-class deposits of gold and nickel. St Ives has produced more than 10.5 million ounces of gold, with the first major gold mining expedition commencing in the mid-1980s.
St Ives Gold Mine operates mainly on a residential basis, with employees either living in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie as well as having a fly-in and fly-out option for those not living locally. With a 10-year life of mine, stability is also on offer.
Role Details:
Reporting to the Unit Manager: Technical Services at St Ives, you will be responsible for the leadership of the Mine Planning Engineering Departments, playing a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing mine planning activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of gold resources. You will contribute to organisational success by delivering optimised mining forecasts for underground and open pit mining operations through pragmatic, effective, and collaborative mine planning. These range from the short-term (implementation) through to medium-term (3 years) requirements (including annual budget forecasts) aligned to mine life of mine & strategic direction of the business.
