About the role:

We are seeking a talented and motivated (Junior) Machine Learning Engineer to join our team of innovators in the field of Data and AI. As a (Junior) Machine Learning Engineer at Machine Learning Reply, you will play a key role in high-impact projects delivering solutions to our customers. We are looking for someone who has a solid understanding not only in Machine Learning and Data Science, but also in Software Engineering, DevOps and building cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop machine learning solutions, often utilizing cloud-based services on Cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
2. Develop and coordinate infrastructure projects (e.g., the introduction of cloud data lakes & data warehouses).
3. Write software components in languages such as Java (Spring Boot), Python (PySpark, Flask), JavaScript/Typescript (Vue, React, Angular).
4. Setting up development and deployment infrastructure (DevOps) in cloud or on-premises environments.
5. Research and prototype new ideas for disrupting day-to-day operations & create new value for our clients across all industries.
6. Implement customer-specific use cases and guide our client through the entire lifecycle from creative workshops to implementation.
7. Apply your skills to help our clients improve their data usage through data modeling & data visualization.

Job requirements:

Minimum Job Requirements / Qualifications:

1. Experience and/or interest in the area of artificial intelligence.
2. Experience in relational databases & knowledge of SQL.
3. Experience in Software Engineering and related principles with knowledge of at least one additional programming language (e.g. Python, Java, …).
4. Knowledge of visualization and frontend technologies is strongly preferred.
5. Bachelor’s and Master’s degree and a strong quantitative background, for example in Business Informatics, Business Science (with an additional background in Informatics), Computer Science.
6. Fluent in English and able to speak German at least at a B2 Level.
7. You are based in Tirol, Austria.

Desired:

1. Experience in cloud infrastructure development and management.
2. Experience in the consulting industry.
3. Knowledge of technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, or Spark and principles like MLOps is a plus.
4. Interest in (agile) project management.
