The Role

In this role, you will oversee the club’s list management strategy, talent acquisition, and retention processes, working closely with the recruiting team, coaching staff, and football department. You’ll be instrumental in developing a long-term list strategy that delivers sustained success while embracing the unique opportunity of building a new club from the ground up.

Reports to General Manager of Football.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic list build plan to establish a competitive AFL men’s and women’s team.
• Lead recruitment, trade, and draft strategies, ensuring a balanced and sustainable list.
• Drive contract negotiations, salary cap management, and list compliance in collaboration with the football department.
• Identify and secure emerging talent through drafting, trading, and free agency.
• Develop a strong player retention strategy to foster a high-performance culture.
• Collaborate with high-performance and development staff to maximize player growth.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with player agents, AFL executives, and industry stakeholders.
