The Foundation continues to adopt a system-thinking approach as we invest in, create, and influence the conditions needed to end disadvantage in Australia.

We take a targeted approach to grant-making and, since 2016, have supported more than $1bn in grants and $140m in Impact Investments with over 200 partners to create change together.

In 2022, PRF launched a new area of work focused on impact investing. The goal is to better leverage our balance sheet to pursue our programmatic goals and align our assets with our mission.

We are looking for an Associate to join the team during this exciting part of our journey as we continue to build on our market-leading investing practice. The Impact Investing Associate will lead origination activities, hold a portfolio of active investments and support the team on new investment proposals through analysis and due diligence, working with others and independently as appropriate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working with others and independently as required, develop and lead an origination strategy for new investments.
• Support and, where appropriate lead, due diligence on new investment opportunities.
• Provide detailed project management support throughout the development of new investment opportunities, including coordination with advisors, legal consultants and co-investors.
• Establish and coordinate execution of accurate legal documentation in line with investment details for transactions within the Associate’s portfolio.
• Conduct market research on the impact investing landscape to identify strategic opportunities for PRF.
• Working with others, and independently, lead management of a portfolio of new and existing investee relationships, providing post-investment support and capacity support as required.
• Prepare high-quality materials for Executive and Board investment decisions with minimal support.
• Maintain information management systems for the impact investing portfolio’s end-to-end workflow.
• Work closely with Head of Impact Investing and Finance team to design and deliver reporting highlighting key information for stakeholders.
• Support the Impact Investing team in the development of PRF’s impact investing practice, sharing key learnings with the market as appropriate.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

• Relevant undergraduate qualification with six years of professional experience in project management, research, investment or financial markets.
• Experience in impact investing, specifically in financial analysis, financial modelling, business plan analysis, impact assessment, relationship management.
• Motivated by Paul Ramsay Foundation’s mission.
• Strong attention to detail and experience in analytic contexts, with the ability to draw key insights from complex datasets.
• Demonstrated experience producing high quality and visually compelling outputs that distil key information without compromising on complexity and detail.
• Organised and methodical, with ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Advanced written & verbal communication skills.
• Resourceful, motivated, proactive
• Sound sense of judgement.
