Senior Controller for Business Area Controlling - Maintenance & Cloud Lac South (Lac)

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Business Area Controlling Maintenance & Cloud Team is responsible for actively managing the Topline for SAP’s Cloud & Maintenance business for 6 of SAP regions (EMEA North, EMEA South, MEE, APJ, NA, and LAC). The team is responsible for the implementation and optimization of planning models as well as forecast and actual analyses covering all market units within the regional scope. To successfully manage this task and to further strengthen our support for the business we are looking for a Senior Controller. In this role, you will contribute to steering SAP’s biggest revenue stream.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
- Supporting the maintenance & cloud revenue for Market Unit (MU) LAC SOUTH in LAC region on all controlling aspects like budget, forecast, and actual analysis.
- Responsible for forecasting the Support & Cloud Revenue at the Market Unit level working closely with the regional/Global CoE, maintenance business leaders as well as Global Finance Shared Services (GFSS) functions and Global controlling.
- Coordinate the conceptual enhancement of current controlling models and processes around Maintenance and Cloud.
- Communicate proactively with key business stakeholders especially top management in Controlling/Finance and Maintenance Business; provide them with analysis and reporting.
- Act as a trusted advisor for financial topics around maintenance & Cloud, enhanced with strategic business knowhow for present and forward-looking trends (ex. planning process).
- Work closely with global teams for monitoring extension policies effects and back up forecast one-pager deliverables within regional CoE Maintenance team & Cloud COE team.
- Nurture and enhance Maintenance & Cloud Engagement model, driving continuous improvement process, acting as a real orchestrator, and showing ability to connect across various layers in the organization, especially in the context of simplification / automation.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Required skills
- University’s degree, MBA/ACA or equivalent with emphasis on Finance/ Controlling/Accounting.
- Very strong analytical skills, conceptual and structured thinking.
- Business level in English, additional languages are a plus.
- Background in Controlling or in close collaboration with Controlling.
- Background on Revenue Recognition or Accounting or Audit.
- Very structured and accomplished work style, i.e. proactiveness, good sense of prioritization, results and execution focused, independent, autonomous.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and writing skills to successfully interact with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Strong skills in root cause analysis in ERP & potentially RAR systems as well diagnosing inefficiencies in business processes and initiating and completing corrective actions.
Preferred skills
- Highly experienced on SAP system and processes would be a significant strength.
- Knowledge of working in a Controlling environment with a decentralized “field” working model would be a significant strength.
- Proven ability to drive business transformation and execution against ambitious milestones.
- Knowledge and/or experience of Maintenance Business Model would be an advantage.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum 4 to 5 years professional work experience with a strong focus on controlling and/or accounting, preferably with a current role at an MU/Regional level across various LOBs. Ideally, some knowledge in maintenance revenue models would be a plus (i.e. Point-In-Time revenue stream).
