The Role

As a PR Specialist & Marketing Strategist, you will:

• Work closely with social media marketing & each department to devise and deploy effective marketing and PR strategies to ensure our shows, classes, and other business lines are well attended and to enhance the visibility and reputation of our theatre and its events.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local media, influencers, and community leaders.
• Plan, write, and distribute e-flyers, press releases, blog posts, media kits, and other communication materials.
• Coordinate TV, radio interviews & press coverage for our shows, workshops, and special events.
• Monitor media trends and report on coverage metrics to ensure we're hitting our PR goals.
• Act as a spokesperson for the playhouse when needed, representing our values and brand.
• Ensure that marketing and PR content produced maintains and aligns with the theatre's unique personality, voice, and brand.
• Ensure the company's core values are always adhered to and that they shine through in everything we do.
• Fulfill other standard job requirements at the theatre such as opening classes, making announcements, helping to seat customers, and covering front desk.
• Monitor and collate all media related to the theatre.
• Actively seek out new partnerships, platforms, and opportunities to collaborate whilst tracking and nurturing these and existing relationships.
• Immerse yourself in improv, developing a deep understanding of the philosophy behind Keith Johnstone's approach and how it informs everything we do.
• Understand the history of the playhouse so as to be able to tell our story effectively.
• Develop and nurture brand ambassadors among our team and community, leading by example first.
• Develop and maintain the theatre's international reputation in the improv world by building and maintaining relationships.
• Maintain our contact list on Mailchimp CRM, ensuring monthly imports are done.

What We're Looking For

• A diploma or degree in marketing & PR.
• A proven track record in PR, media relations, or a related field.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• A proactive, problem-solving approach with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Passion for theatre, comedy, or the arts is a bonus!
• Prior experience in event promotion is highly desirable.
• Great team spirit and enthusiasm.
• Confidence and assertiveness are key in this dynamic role.
• The ability to learn fast and understand concepts deeply.
• Familiarity with Dubai's media landscape, connections with local press.
• Comfortable using software such as Mailchimp, Wordpress, and project management tools such as Asana.
• Fluency in English is essential; additional languages, particularly Arabic, are a bonus.
• Experience with digital marketing tools and analytics like Google and YouTube is an advantage.
