Assistant/Associate Professor in Sociology
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in sociology, covering key topics such as social theory, cultural studies, social change, and contemporary social issues.
- Engage in research activities and initiate projects leading to publications in internationally recognized, peer-reviewed journals.
- Supervise graduation projects, master's theses, and doctoral dissertations.
- Contribute to curriculum development by updating and enhancing sociology programs to reflect contemporary global and regional challenges.
- Participate in academic accreditation processes, ensuring compliance with the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation and international standards.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned by the department, college, or university.
- Engage in community service initiatives, including organizing events and providing consultancy in sociological research and public policy.
- Offer academic advising and student mentorship to support students' academic and professional development.
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
- PhD in Sociology or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- At least three years of successful teaching experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels in sociology or related disciplines.
- A strong research record with publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals or indexed in Scopus.
- Experience supervising graduation projects, as well as master’s and doctoral theses.
- Proven ability to establish collaborations with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners.
- A demonstrated history of contributing to university and community service initiatives.
- Preference for candidates with experience in e-learning and online education.
- Proficiency in integrating digital technology and AI into curriculum design and instruction.
