This is a unique opportunity to explore the design and development of stations, ancillary buildings, station architecture, depots, placemaking, and urban integration under the guidance of seasoned professionals.
Role Overview
As an Intern in the Rail Team, you'll gain hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary design environment contributing to transit and metro projects that shape cities and communities. Whether your interest lies in mechanical or electrical engineering, this internship will offer exposure to building and station design, placemaking, and sustainable solutions while supporting you in developing your technical skills and industry knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and modeling of HVAC and hydraulics systems or electrical systems for rail assets.
- Learn and apply thermal and energy modeling tools to support sustainable design solutions that minimize energy consumption.
- Support building systems coordination with architects, structural engineers, and stakeholders through various project phases using BIM platforms.
- Participate in collaborative design sessions and project reviews with senior team members.
- Assist in producing high-quality design documents and drawings.
- Explore innovative and sustainable design practices that align with AECOM's commitment to minimizing environmental impact.

Qualifications :
- Education: Pursuing a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree
- Graduation Date: Ideally a potential 2025 or 2026 graduate (or a 2024/2023 graduate looking for short-term work placement for experience).
- Start Date: Dec 2024 / Jan 2025
- Duration: 13 months depending on individual preferences.
