Job description

As a X-Ray Technician, operates medical imaging equipment to capture images of patients' internal structures for diagnostic purposes. They position patients appropriately, operate the X-ray machine, and ensure the quality and accuracy of the images. Radiologic Technologists also maintain patient records, follow safety procedures, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely imaging results.

Responsibilities

  • Position patients and X-ray equipment to obtain clear and accurate images.
  • Prepare and operate X-ray machines and other medical imaging equipment.
  • Determine appropriate X-ray techniques and adjust exposure factors as needed.
  • Maintain patient records and document imaging procedures.
  • Ensure patient safety and follow radiation protection protocols.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret and assess the quality of images.
  • Assist with interventional radiology procedures, such as fluoroscopy and computed tomography (CT) scans.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot medical imaging equipment.
  • Associate's degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • State licensure or certification as a Radiologic Technologist (required in some states).
  • Knowledge of radiographic techniques, anatomy, and medical terminology.
