Assist the Engine Supervisor to accomplish aviation unit, and intermediate maintenance inspections, services, and repairs on all assigned aircraft turbine engines and components.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of High School/Secondary School
Must have a Federal Aviation Administration Power Plant (P) license or equivalent.
Completion of a formal turbine engine training course from an accredited military or civilian aeronautical school.
Knowledgeable on The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) preferable.
Minimum of 5 years working with aircraft engines relevant to aircraft platform and position.
Must be a Level 2-3 Engine Technician with extensive experience on the PT6, preferably with a type rating on the PT6.
Duties and Responsibilities
Removes, replaces, services, prepares, preserves, cleans, and stores engine assemblies or components.
Disassembles, repairs, reassembles, adjusts, diagnoses, and tests turbine engine systems, subsystems, and components according to applicable manuals and directives.
Assists in troubleshooting engines/engine components and rigging engine controls.
Uses and performs user maintenance on common and special tools.
Requisitions aircraft parts and maintains shop and bench stock for the repair of aircraft engines and components.
Inspects and prepares forms and records in accordance with DA PAM 738-751.
Trains host national personnel on the proper maintenance of the engines and associated components and subsystems.
Responsible for tools and equipment inventory assigned by the supervisor.
