Workshop Controller

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workshop operations, ensuring that all vehicles are serviced and repaired efficiently and to a high standard.
• Manage a team of technicians and service advisors, providing guidance and support to optimize performance and productivity.
• Implement and enforce health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all staff and customers.
• Monitor workshop schedules and workloads, efficiently allocating resources to meet customer demands and minimize downtime.
• Control inventory levels and ordering of parts, ensuring that necessary components are available to avoid service delays.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing their concerns and providing exceptional service.
• Analyze workshop performance metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement in efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer standards and warranty requirements, safeguarding the integrity of the workshop’s reputation.
• Prepare and manage the workshop budget, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost reductions.
• Conduct regular training and development sessions for staff to enhance their technical skills and knowledge of new technologies.

Desired Candidate Profile

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a workshop or automotive service environment, demonstrating leadership capabilities.
• Relevant educational qualifications, such as a diploma in automotive engineering or business management.
• Certifications from recognized automotive organizations, showcasing technical competence and industry knowledge.
• Proven experience in managing a team, with strong interpersonal skills to motivate and develop staff.
• Familiarity with workshop management software to streamline operations and maintain accurate records.
• Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting performance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, with additional language skills considered a plus for customer interactions.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, able to address challenges proactively and efficiently.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive approach to customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all clients interacting with the workshop.
