Job description

To supervise and manage the smooth functioning of the Warehouse & Logistics operations, custodianship of inventory, Inbound & outbound movement of materials, logistics activities & transport arrangements including fleet management.

To supervise & manage all the activities to be routed through SAP and global best practices to ensure system support with minimal manual intervention, ensuring the highest level of satisfaction & service level to all stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Warehouse & Logistics strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to align with warehousing and delivery operations with business goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and technology integration in warehousing, inbound and outbound operations.
  • Lead, coach, and supervise staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Foster a positive work culture, promote teamwork, and ensure effective communication and collaboration within the respective teams.
  • Delegate responsibilities, set clear expectations, and monitor performance to achieve operational targets and KPIs of all individuals.
  • Plan and coordinate daily warehousing activities, including inbound and outbound shipments, goods receipt, order processing, material handling, dispatches, inventory count, inventory adjustment, and related inventory handling activities.
  • Optimize resources, process efficiency, cost-effective storage space utilization, and material flow to improve operational efficiency and minimize bottlenecks with enhanced service level.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies in warehousing, logistics, and transportation activities.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing goods, including inspections, testing, and documentation with warranty replacement clause.
  • Ensure accurate material master data with required details and consistently filter out duplicates.
  • Monitor product quality, packaging standards, and order accuracy to meet customer expectations and regulatory compliance.
  • Investigate quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints, and implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Manage warehouse, logistics, transportation budgets, expenses, and cost control measures to achieve financial targets and maximize profitability.
  • Analyze warehousing operating costs, productivity metrics, and performance indicators to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Extract the reports from SAP, forecasts, and budgetary requirements for review and decision-making.
  • Attend internal meetings and trainings as advised by Line Manager / Supervisor.
  • Communicate frequently with team members to offer and obtain information.
  • Ensure that company format, procedures (safety) and policies are followed.
  • Ensure that ISO procedures and requirements are complied with.
  • Ensure to comply with code of conduct and ethics.
  • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
  • Review designs for accuracy and conformity to standards and regulations.
  • Ensure that all completed/ongoing tasks are as per job specifications/procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Oversee inbound shipments, receipt, storage of materials and outbound activities.
  • Ensure & run the periodic MRP on revised safety stocks for better ordering and inventory management.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory material code, unit of measure & quantity at assigned locations.
  • Plan & assure the Perpetual, Cycle & Annual financial physical inventory counts & variance reconciliation.
  • Review and amend the SOPs as per the requirements to enhance checks & balances at every gate.
  • Ensure safety & security of premises and inventory of all warehouses.
  • Ensure that premises & stocks are orderly & tidy with clear access.
  • Ensure that materials, machines, equipment have a designated place.
  • Plan & run DRP for local collection & distribution.
  • Ensure & follow safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.

Education Qualification and Experience:

  • Degree or master's in any commercial discipline.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of proven work experience in supply chain management in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of Procurement process, Inco terms, global freight services, warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics principles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Hands-on experience in MM module of SAP.
  • Analytical mindset, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, quality standards, and best practices in operational management.
