Job description

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and distribution of materials and products. This role ensures that warehouse activities are performed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The Warehouse Manager works closely with the Supply Chain Director, logistics, production, and other departments to support the overall supply chain and operational goals of the company.

Responsibilities

  1. Warehouse Operations Management
    • Plan, organize, and oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and distribution.
    • Develop and implement warehouse policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
    • Monitor warehouse activities to ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate with logistics and transportation teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and products.
  2. Inventory Management
    • Manage and oversee inventory control processes, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
    • Ensure accurate and up-to-date inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
    • Optimize inventory levels to meet production and customer demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
    • Implement and maintain inventory management best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  3. Staff Management and Development
    • Supervise, train, and develop warehouse staff, including warehouse supervisors, clerks, and material handlers.
    • Assign tasks and responsibilities to warehouse staff and monitor their performance.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to staff.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
  4. Safety and Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company safety policies in the warehouse.
    • Develop and implement safety procedures and training programs to promote a safe working environment.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to warehouse operations, including hazardous materials handling and storage.
  5. Process Improvement
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
    • Use lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize warehouse operations.
    • Participate in cross-functional teams and projects to improve overall supply chain performance.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data analytics to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  6. Technology and Systems Management
    • Manage and oversee the use of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies.
    • Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of inventory records in the WMS.
    • Implement and maintain technology solutions to improve warehouse operations and inventory management.
    • Stay up-to-date with advancements in warehouse technology and recommend upgrades or new systems as needed.
  7. Customer Service
    • Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders and delivery requirements.
    • Address customer inquiries and concerns related to warehouse operations and order fulfillment.
    • Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to meet customer expectations and resolve any issues.
    • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure high levels of service.
  8. Budget Management
    • Develop and manage the warehouse budget, including labor, equipment, and operational expenses.
    • Monitor and control warehouse costs to ensure budget compliance and cost-effectiveness.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement initiatives to reduce warehouse expenses.
    • Provide regular budget updates and reports to the Supply Chain Director.
  9. Vendor and Supplier Coordination
    • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and products.
    • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and other external partners.
    • Evaluate vendor performance and provide feedback to ensure high-quality service.
    • Negotiate terms and agreements with vendors and suppliers to optimize costs and service levels.

Qualifications

-Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Warehouse Logistics Professional (CWLP)) are preferred.

-Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in warehouse management, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Experience in the microelectronics or electronics manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing warehouse operations and achieving efficiency improvements.
