Job description

Greet guests and present them with the list of dishes on offer in a restaurant; those ready prepared are on the table d'hôte side, those cooked to order, on the à la carte side.
Inform guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any.
Suggest food and beverages to the guest.
Take food and beverage orders from the guest on the order taking pads.
Accept payments, issue receipts, and return change.
Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor/manager.
Fill in for absent staff as needed in any of the F&B areas within the hotel.
Punch the order on the POS machine and ensure to enter the special requirements made by the guest while ordering the food (e.g., No Garlic, less spicy, without egg, etc.).
Communicate with the guest and provide assistance with their queries.
Work as a team to get all the job tasks completed in any given time.
Observe guests and ensure their satisfaction with the food and service.
Promptly respond to guests with any additional requests.
Maintain proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling glasses.
Properly open and pour wine at the table.
Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
Understand and communicate products and services available at the hotel.
Must have some familiarity with basic cooking knowledge and complete menu knowledge for their restaurant/area.
Help other areas of the restaurant such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions.
Tally the credit card settlements for the day with the batch closing report from the EDC machine.
Close the shift on the POS terminal.
Adhere to hotel hygiene and HACCP standards and ensure Standard Operating Procedures and Requirements are fully met.
Other tasks as assigned.

Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
