About the Job:

Attending to guests by welcoming and seating them, catering to their requirements by taking food and beverage orders, serving food and beverages to customers, and attending to customers' needs. Communicating the orders to the kitchen effectively, memorizing the menu, and offering recommendations to upsell appetizers, desserts, or drinks in line with Jumeirah standard operating procedure.

An opportunity has arisen for a Waiter/ess to join our Food and Beverage Team in Jumeirah Saadiyat Island Resort. The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

• Greet guests with a warm welcome and smile. Escort them to their tables. Answer inquiries about food and beverage items on the menu.
• Assist guests by explaining how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods, where applicable.
• Be aware of allergy information on menu items and inform guests where needed or inquired.
• Inform guests of daily specials or special items/promotions not listed on the menu.
• Check customer's identification to ensure they meet alcohol legal age requirements.
• Offer food and wine suggestions. Take food and beverage orders accurately including any special requests.
• Input the order into PO System, if needed.
• Work with bartenders to fill beverage orders and with kitchen staff to process and expedite food orders.
• Deliver and serve food at tables using established food handling and serving techniques.
• Maintain the table setting by clearing courses as completed and cleaning server stations.
• Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware as applicable.
• Ensure that high standards of personal hygiene and grooming are strictly observed.
• Ensure that guests of the outlet experience an enjoyable and memorable service.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals.
• Handle guests' inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints to the Team Leaders.
• Ensure adherence to departmental policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.
• Adhere to all relevant Health, Safety and Environment procedures.
• Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management.

About you:

• At least 1 year of experience as a waiter/waitress in a luxury hotel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability and appreciation of cultural diversity.
• Team player with accuracy and attention to detail.
