About the Job:

To provide quality food and beverage service that is always consistent with the SBU SBS. Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained at all times. Assist the FOH team in delivering excellent service standards. Maintain Food Safety and Health & Safety standards. Attend to guests by welcoming and seating them, taking food and beverage orders, serving food and beverages, and attending to customers' needs. Communicate orders to the kitchen effectively, memorize the menu, and offer recommendations to upsell appetizers, desserts, or drinks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures adherence to Jumeirah Quality Standards.
• Links kitchen and service areas.
• Provides table and counter service of menu items.
• Provides service of alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages.
• Updates food and beverage knowledge.
• Advises guests on food and beverage.
• Receives and stores food and beverage adhering to hygiene regulations.
• Monitors quality of food and beverage and reports to supervisor.
• Uses up-selling techniques to exceed guests’ expectations.
• Assists in large events or hotel functions as requested.
• Communicates effectively with PIC in kitchen and FOH colleagues.
• Knows correct presentation of all menu items.
• Prepares pass section/area for the shift.
• Manages expedition of food from the pass.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Male or Female
• Ability to work in a smoky environment.
• Demonstrates energy and enthusiasm.
• Honest and sincere in dealings.
• Basic knowledge of beverages.
• Basic table service skills.
• University Degree in hospitality management preferred.
• 2 years in a Food and Beverage Service outlet in a 5-star property.
• Accurate and efficient task performance.
• Ability to work in a busy environment.
• Can handle pressure.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 2 years in a similar position.
• Good product knowledge.
• Flexible to work in the bar for assistance.
• 2-3 years in a Food and Beverage Service outlet in a 5-star property.
