VP Global Cargo Operations

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a VP Global Cargo Operations (SkyCargo) to join us at Emirates. The VP Global Cargo Operations (SkyCargo) will lead, manage and oversee for SkyCargo all Emirates cargo stations outside the U.A.E, ensuring operational service delivery, safety, security, and compliance. The role will also lead the global Ground Handling Agents (GHA) cargo partnerships and cargo handling agreements. Additionally, the candidate will plan and manage the Cargo Operation Control Centre (COCC) and global trucking operations.

What you will do:

1. Accountable for the SkyCargo global service delivery scorecard, driving station performance and encouraging and utilising technology and innovation to drive continuous improvement.
2. Design and implement a strategic procurement plan for all cargo handling across the network in alignment with Procurement & Logistics and Emirates Airport Services.
3. Directly accountable for the management of all quarterly business reviews with key suppliers and global handling partners.
4. Accountable for the management of overall cost budget across 150+ different stations and 300 different suppliers.
5. Management of all cargo handling agreements and contractual terms and conditions including service level agreements and invoice verification and control of spend in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
6. Oversee and manage strategy for station tenders, supplier evaluation, and selection of handling partners.
7. Drive strategic procurement and technical evaluation processes, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure service consistency across the network and adherence to corporate governance standards.
8. Responsible for all SkyCargo trucking services and trucking supplier management globally and U.A.E.
9. Lead and implement the introduction of the Global Trucking centralised control (Control Tower) concept.
10. Oversight over all global trucking costs.
11. Lead and oversee the Cargo Operations Control Centre (COCC) ensuring enhanced service performance, transparency and network compliance to department expectations.
12. Provide strategic leadership to ensure cargo operations align with regulations and company standards.
13. Set direction and deliver activities supporting safety objectives across SkyCargo, implementing and managing standards to mitigate risk.
14. Oversee audit findings with the compliance team, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution of safety, internal audit, IOSA, and other regulatory reviews.
15. Collaborating with internal SkyCargo training function, drive SkyCargo outstation training and development strategy implementation, ensuring comprehensive training plans for operational teams and mandatory courses are aligned with station needs.
16. Lead the strategic planning and implementation of new cargo destinations from an operations perspective, ensuring timely support and resource allocation during the critical setup phase.
17. Oversee manpower planning and provide expert guidance to ensure successful operational launches.
18. Develop and encourage a culture of performance, transparency, customer focus and collaboration, displaying evolved leadership to lead the global team to deliver on SkyCargo operational strategies and plans.

Qualifications & Experience:

This job might be for you if you have:

• Qualifications: Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent), in a commercial, business or supply chain domain.
• Experience: 12+ years in Logistics/Cargo/Safety/Compliance – demonstrating relevant experience at a senior level.
• Knowledge/skills: Senior leadership experience in managing large, diverse, multi-cultural teams.
• Experience of airline/cargo operations preferred.
• Knowledge of strategic Air Cargo requirements covering safety, security, compliance and engineering.
• Previous experience of working with relevant airport authorities preferred.
