VMS & ACS Engineer - System Installation & Configuration

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced VMS & ACS Engineer to join our growing team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have proven hands-on experience in managing and troubleshooting Video Management Systems (VMS) and Access Control Systems (ACS), with expertise in well-known industry solutions such as Milestone, Genetec, Lenel OnGuard, and more.

You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of VMS and ACS technologies to ensure smooth operations and security functionality for our clients.

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise in the deployment of security solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, configure, and maintain Video Management Systems (VMS) such as Milestone, Genetec, SSM, Pelco VideoExpert, and others for optimal performance.
2. Set up, configure, and maintain Access Control Systems (ACS), including systems like Lenel OnGuard, Keri, Sipass, P2000, and Maxxess to meet security and operational requirements.
3. Provide in-depth troubleshooting for both hardware and software issues related to VMS and ACS systems.
4. Address and resolve technical issues promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring system reliability and uptime.
5. Provide on-site support for both VMS and ACS systems, performing diagnostics, firmware upgrades, and necessary repairs.
6. Work on integrating VMS with other security systems, including alarm systems, surveillance cameras, and other IT infrastructure.
7. Ensure seamless interoperability between VMS and ACS systems with network devices, storage solutions (NAS/SAN), and cameras (Axis, Hanwha, Pelco, Hikvision).
8. Implement and troubleshoot networking protocols, IP-based video systems, and server management for both VMS and ACS.
9. Ensure the security of the systems by configuring firewalls, VPNs, and other network security measures.
10. Regularly perform system maintenance, software updates, and patches on VMS and ACS platforms to ensure system performance and security.
11. Monitor system health, network traffic, and security events to identify potential issues before they affect performance.
12. Maintain accurate documentation of installations, configurations, troubleshooting processes, and technical specifications.
13. Provide regular reports on system status, incident resolution, and project progress to stakeholders and management.
14. Work closely with clients to understand their security requirements and provide tailored VMS & ACS solutions.
15. Provide training and technical guidance to clients' on-site teams to operate and maintain the installed systems.
16. Ability to work on-site at client locations and travel within the UAE for system installations, troubleshooting, and customer support as needed.
17. Flexibility to work in diverse and challenging environments, including tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.

Required Skills:

1. In-depth understanding of VMS and ACS technologies, including system installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
2. Strong troubleshooting skills for both software and hardware issues, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve technical problems.
3. Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), IP video systems, and experience with server management.
4. Expertise in integrating various security systems (i.e., video surveillance, access control, alarms) into a unified platform.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, cross-functional teams, and management.
6. Strong documentation skills, ensuring all configurations, troubleshooting, and installations are recorded accurately.
