Overview of the role

A Visual Merchandiser has to be tuned in to all areas of popular culture and creativity in order to bring a fresh perspective to a brand. You would be responsible for presenting products in a way that attracts customers and maximizes sales. You could be based at head office or in a store. Travel to different markets and stores to set up displays and give training.

What you will do

  1. Display the brand by seasonal trends and to be able to mix and match outfits in window/in store as per the Company’s brand standard.
  2. Display window and in store mannequins/torsos to promote the brand’s styling and implementation standard.
  3. Display window and in store mannequins/torsos to promote a specific product or top seller promotion.
  4. Draw designs and plans by hand or computer.
  5. Decide how to use space and lighting creatively.
  6. Create visual merchandising packs to send to each market/store.
  7. Give feedback to head office and buying teams.
  8. Set up displays, graphics, arranging action areas and implementation of posters in window/indoor.
  9. Coach store people/VMs on how products should be displayed on mannequins/torsos in window/in store.
  10. Coach store people/VMs on how to dress and style mannequins and torsos window/in store.
  11. For new store openings, the Job holder will be responsible for physically being involved in the placement of graphics and VM displays.

Required Skills to be successful

  1. Adapts to changes in the work environment.
  2. Follows instructions and responds to management direction.
  3. Translates concepts and information into images.
  4. Good knowledge of MS Office Applications, especially PowerPoint presentation.

Minimum Qualification and Knowledge

  1. Education: University Degree graduate preferably in Interior Design, Merchandising, or Fashion.
  2. At least 2 years of Visual Merchandise experience in Retail Fashion business.
  3. Highly organized, attention to detail.
  4. Problem Solving.
  5. Decision Making.
  6. Work under pressure.
  7. Pro-active and flexible.
  8. Able to handle numerous tasks at one time and prioritize them effectively.
  9. Advanced skills in MS office PowerPoint presentation.
  10. Interpersonal skills ability to interact professionally with high level executives on regular basis.
  11. Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as third party vendors.
  12. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
