Job description

Role Purpose:

The VAR Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Video Analytics Review team, ensuring the effective monitoring and investigation of incidents, fraud, and policy violations across restaurant locations. This role supports the VAR Manager in risk assessment, compliance enforcement, and process improvements while providing guidance to team members. The Assistant Manager plays a key role in safeguarding company assets, minimizing losses, and improving operational integrity through detailed analytics and investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Team Oversight & Support:

  • Supervise and support VAR team members in monitoring, detecting, and validating incidents.
  • Ensure team adherence to investigative protocols, best practices, and reporting standards.
  • Assist in training and coaching team members to improve investigative techniques and fraud detection skills.

2.Incident Investigation & Case Management:

  • Analyze and validate reported incidents, including financial fraud, inventory discrepancies, and employee misconduct.
  • Review video footage and other evidence, documenting findings for further action.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and timely escalation of high-risk cases
  • Conduct post-incident analysis to identify root causes and recommend corrective measures.

3.Compliance & Risk Mitigation:

  • Ensure adherence to company policies, loss prevention protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify operational vulnerabilities and suggest improvements to prevent future incidents.
  • Work closely with Operations, HR, and IT to optimize measures and video analytics usage.

4.Process Improvement & Data Analysis:

  • Identify trends and patterns in incidents to enhance fraud detection and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in developing and implementing process enhancements for more efficient monitoring and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve video analytics system capabilities and reporting efficiency.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Criminology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant certifications in loss prevention, fraud investigation, or risk management are an advantage.
  • 10+ years of experience in QSR operations, loss prevention, or investigations
  • 2+ years of experience as an Area manager.
  • Hands-on experience in restaurant operations, with a deep understanding of operational systems, POS platforms, and compliance controls.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR and operations, to drive compliance and loss prevention initiatives

Skills:

  • Good oral & written communication skills Arabic and English.
  • Strong investigative and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory management, operational controls, and compliance enforcement.
  • Ability to use video analytics tools and systems effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
