Veterinary Doctor

The Veterinary Doctor will play a key role in ensuring the health and well-being of dairy cattle on large-scale farms. The Veterinary Doctor will diagnose and treat illnesses, oversee preventative health programs, and manage reproductive health. The role also involves optimizing nutrition and milk production, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and local regulations. The ideal candidate will work closely with farm staff to provide training and ensure the highest standards of animal care and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

1. Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and other health conditions in dairy cattle.
2. Perform regular health checks and clinical assessments.
3. Administer vaccinations, medications, and other treatments as required.
4. Develop and implement herd health programs to prevent diseases and infections.
5. Monitor and manage biosecurity protocols to maintain a disease-free environment.
6. Conduct routine deworming, hoof care, and other preventative measures.
7. Oversee artificial insemination (AI) and natural breeding programs.
8. Diagnose and manage reproductive disorders.
9. Monitor and assist with calving processes and neonatal care.
10. Collaborate with nutritionists to optimize feeding programs.
11. Monitor milk production and advise on strategies to enhance yield and quality.
12. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all animals.
13. Prepare and submit regular health and productivity reports to management.
14. Educate farm staff on best practices in animal handling, health monitoring, and hygiene.
15. Conduct workshops or training sessions for continuous knowledge improvement.
16. Respond promptly to emergency situations such as injuries, calving difficulties, or outbreaks.
17. Perform surgical procedures as needed.
18. Ensure all practices comply with local veterinary regulations and farm policies.
19. Promote and adhere to workplace safety standards.

Requirements:

1. Mandatory: Bachelor's degree in veterinary medicine.
2. Minimum 5+ years of experience and 2-3 years of experience in GCC Country.
