Veterinarian - for Dairy Farm

Apt Resources is seeking a skilled Veterinarian to join the team at a dairy farm in Abu Dhabi. In this important role, you will provide expert medical care to the farm's livestock, ensuring their health, well-being, and effective management.

Responsibilities

1. Conduct health assessments of livestock to diagnose and identify the nature of diseases or injuries.
2. Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medications, setting fractures, and dressing wounds.
3. Restore animal health through surgical and medical treatments as needed.
4. Prevent the spread of diseases, such as rabies and brucellosis, by conducting tests and administering vaccinations to the livestock.
5. Collect and analyze blood, urine, tissues, and other fluids for diagnostic testing.
6. Train and supervise farm staff in proper animal care and handling procedures.
7. Maintain detailed records, including reports, logs, and health documentation for the animals.
8. Implement testing and monitoring protocols to prevent disease transmission within the farm and to ensure compliance with relevant health regulations.
9. Develop and manage nutrition and breeding programs to ensure the well-being and productivity of the livestock.
10. Stay updated on the latest veterinary practices and advancements through continuous education, professional publications, and industry networking.
11. Conduct research on potential diseases and health concerns affecting farm animals.
12. Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the farm manager.

Requirements

1. Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or equivalent.
2. Valid veterinary license to practice in the UAE.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in veterinary practice, with a focus on exotic animals or wildlife preferred.
4. Strong knowledge of animal husbandry, ethics, and welfare.
5. Excellent diagnostic and surgical skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
7. Passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing high-quality veterinary care.
8. Willingness to adapt to a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Salary package: AED 13,000 / - and up per month depending on experience. Plus accommodation, food, toiletries, and other benefits as per UAE Labor law.
