Job Description Maintain USV & associated systems to manufacturers guidelines and company Integrated Management System (IMS)
Complete routine servicing and maintenance in line with manufacturers guidelines and as scheduled in the USV Preventative Maintenance System (PMS)
Inspect & test USV local & remote systems – command and control
Inspect, report & repair hull integrity & all internal components as required.
Carry out premobilisation, mobilisation and pre-deployment checks as per manufacturers and department guidelines
Carry out pre-deployment check before mission commencement
Participate in mobilisations & demobilisations. Handover of control to and from ROC or other control location
Participate in launch and recovery of USV's from quayside/deck
Assist during USV pilotage operations
Assist in preparation of pilotage plans and ensure they are executed effectively and safely
Maintain logs during field operations and all other vessel logs at all times, to include maintenance log, issue tracker, material requests, and any other logs that may be utilized by the department.
Participate in USV operations Risk Assessments (RA)
Assisting the Project Manager and Survey Team with the survey mission planning and set up
Basic understanding of marine mechanical systems
Basic understanding of marine electronics and power generation
Understanding of USV technology
Good understanding of IT infrastructure and networking
Good understanding of typical navigational equipment (GNSS/IMU/MRU/Radar/Lidar)
Good understanding of typical USV payload equipment (SBP/MBES/CTDS)
Basic understanding of survey acquisition package (EIVA/Qinsy)
Good communication skills
A keen interest in maritime autonomy and future technologies
Relevant knowledge/experience working as a Survey technician/engineer or working directly as a technician on a USV or Small vessel
Experience in a USV field or yard environment, not essential but preferred
Experience of Offshore Survey operations
Higher National Certificate (HNC) (or equivalent) or higher in engineering or a discipline related to marine technology or equivalent field experience
Must have or be able to obtain all industry required certificates to work offshore
Must be able to obtain a valid passport and/or visas to travel internationally
Must hold full drivers license
