Travel Sterile Processing Technician

AlliedTravelCareers is working with Infojini Healthcare to find a qualified Sterile Processing Tech in WEST BAY SHORE, New York, 11706!

Pay Information: $1,530 per week

About The Position:

1. ID: Shift: 7.5H 15:00-23:00 Evening (8)
2. CLIENT ORDER ID: 46087
3. SHIFT TIMES: 12:00:00 PM - 08:00:00 PM
4. WORK SITE: 301 E Main St, Bay Shore, NY 11706
5. Every other weekend
6. 300 bed tertiary hospital, busy level II trauma center

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
2. Sterile processing certification (CRCST or CSPD)
3. 1+ year experience required

Responsibilities:

1. Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, reassembles and packages sterile supplies according to specifications and/or manufacturer instructions and follows department protocols.
2. Operates washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment during sterilization procedures.
3. Adheres to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts.
4. Retrieves used trays, instruments and equipment from various surgical and clinical hospital areas for decontamination.
5. Examines instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly and functionality.
6. Identifies malfunctioning items, records related information, and promptly notifies supervisor or biomedical engineer.
7. Receives and fills requisitions from hospital departments and nursing units.
8. Communicates with perioperative staff regarding related instrument needs.
9. Assists in ordering, stocking and maintaining department inventory levels.
10. Performs required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to lift/carry 25 pounds, required.
2. Manual dexterity, ability to stand, bend, lift and/or reach for extended periods of time, required.
3. Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing) and follow oral and/or written instructions, required.
