Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Transportation Manager at Nejoum Al Jazeera in Sharjah. The Transportation Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily transportation operations, managing the fleet, ensuring efficient customer service, and effective communication with various stakeholders.
A Transportation Manager is a professional who oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of product shipments from production to the end-user. They are responsible for managing logistics and ensuring that shipments are handled efficiently, safely, and within budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans and supervises the shipments from the seaports to Nejoum Warehouses.
- Schedules daily, weekly, and monthly routes.
- Tracks orders using functional systems (e.g. barcodes and tracking software).
- Optimizes the efficiency of transportation operations while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Coordinates with Warehouse Workers to ensure proper storage and distribution of products.
- Monitors and reports on transportation costs.
- Ensures shipping documents are properly filed.
- Reports maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment.
- Researches and suggests cost-effective shipping methods.
- Conducts regular safety audits on equipment.
- Ensures the smooth and secure handling of all shipments.
- Organizes training sessions for employees (e.g. proper use of machines and handling of hazardous material).
- Keeps organized records of vehicles, schedules, and completed orders.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and shipping legislation.
- Stays up-to-date with safety regulations.
