The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of transportation operations, including coordination of deliveries, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations. They work closely with suppliers, drivers, and internal teams to ensure efficient and timely transportation of goods. The Transportation Coordinator also handles administrative tasks, such as maintaining transportation records and preparing reports.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and schedule deliveries to meet customer demands.
Communicate with drivers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth transportation operations.
Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
Manage transportation documentation, such as bills of lading and shipping invoices.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
Resolve transportation-related issues or delays.
Optimize transportation routes for cost and efficiency.
Analyze transportation data and identify areas for improvement.
Ensure all transportation activities are conducted safely and within budget.
Train and supervise transportation staff.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience in transportation coordination or a related role.
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
Proficiency in transportation management systems and software.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not required.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related field is a plus.
