Transmission Power Network Engineers Power-Abu Dhabi UAE-12 MONTHS

We are seeking highly skilled Transmission Planning Engineers to support the Power Network Strategy & Planning Division (PNSPD) in conducting power system studies, preparing business cases, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The selected candidates will work from the client's Abu Dhabi office for a period of 12 months (with possible extension).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement static, dynamic, and transient models for electrical power systems.
• Perform transmission long-term planning involving substation expansion plans and transmission system master plans preparation.
• Perform technical and economical evaluation of the transmission system expansion alternatives.
• Evaluate transmission system impacts of new loads and generation plants (renewable and conventional) connection requests.
• Conduct electrical power system steady state, short circuit, dynamic, and transient stability analysis.
• Prepare technical reports to underpin the outcomes of network analysis.
• Prepare business cases and technical presentations based on the outcomes of the study.
• Develop or modify automation scripts to enhance the efficiency, speed, and accuracy of technical simulations, with specific knowledge of automation scripts in Python.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in electrical power and power systems or equivalent, or a master's in electrical engineering from a recognized university.

Minimum Experience:

• Ten (10) years of experience in the relevant field, including successfully completing a previous position as a Power Network Planning Engineer for a project of a similar type and scope of work.

Field of Experience:

• In-depth understanding of the fundamentals of electric power systems, grid operation, and renewable energy.
• Knowledge of transmission network planning and analysis.
• Power system analysis, including steady state, short circuit, dynamic, and transient stability analysis.
• High level of experience with PSS/E software and Python coding.
• High level of experience with Plexos software in conjunction with PSS/E.
• Well-developed analytical investigation and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver projects to agreed quality standards within schedule constraints.
• Capable of working under pressure to meet project deadlines.

Service Level & Contract Terms:
