Translator

The Portuguese Translator is responsible for translating written and spoken content from Portuguese to English and vice versa. They must ensure accurate and culturally appropriate translations that preserve the original meaning of the text. This role requires fluency in both languages and good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

1. Translate documents, articles, and other written materials from Portuguese to English and vice versa.
2. Ensure accurate and grammatically correct translations.
3. Maintain consistency in style and tone across different translations.
4. Edit and proofread translated materials for quality assurance.
5. Research industry-specific terminology and apply it appropriately.
6. Collaborate with other translators and proofreaders to improve translation quality.
7. Meet deadlines and manage multiple translation projects simultaneously.
8. Provide cultural and linguistic guidance to clients or colleagues, as needed.
9. Stay updated on language industry trends and new translation tools and technologies.
10. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with caution.

Minimum Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in Portuguese and English.
• Bachelor's degree in translation, linguistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in translation or a similar role.
• Excellent writing and grammar skills in both languages.
• Familiarity with translation software and tools.
