Job description

The Commercial Specialist is responsible for carrying out commercial, contractual and administrational duties as well as document management in order to support the Facility Management in achieving its objective of becoming a well-organized, productive and ISO compliant function.

The Commercial Specialist is also responsible for supporting other activities within the department such as auditing, report generation and coordinating facility management related assets.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Focus :

  • Represent TESG with Integrity: Act as a key ambassador for TESG, consistently upholding the organization’s values, ethics, and professionalism when engaging with vendors, sub-contractors and colleagues.
  • Foster Stakeholder Collaboration: Strengthen internal and external relationships through clear communication and alignment on project goals, delay impacts, and resolution strategies.
  • Standard of Conduct for Toshiba: Comply with and uphold the Toshiba Standard of Conduct.
  • Safety Standards and Guidelines: Adhering to all safety standards and guidelines set forth by the HSE team to facilitate promoting safe practices within the company.

Functional Focus :

  • Oversee commercial and contractual aspects of transmission and grid projects.
  • Prepare and review contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and regional regulations.
  • Support bid preparation, pricing strategies, and financial risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize project profitability and efficiency.
  • Manage invoicing, cost control, and financial reporting for ongoing projects.
  • Assist in negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Keep abreast with the market trends, competitor activities, and industry best practices to support business development.
  • Assist the project managers in resolving contractual issues related to site acquisition.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, and updates the HOD (Commercial), providing insights and recommendations for informed decision making.
  • Any other related tasks assigned as per the management’s requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Educational Qualification :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
  • An Electrical Engineering degree will be an advantage.

Experience :

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in commercial management, preferably in the energy or infrastructure sector.
  • Exposure and experience in the Transmission and distribution industry.
  • Previous experience working in the GCC region would be an advantage.
  • Willing to travel across GCC countries as per the business needs.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Must possess excellent customer relationship management skills, with the ability to foster long-term partnerships.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills to coordinate with service providers.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracts, risk assessment, and its legal implications.
  • Demonstrable creative problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a team-oriented environment.
