About the role:
The Assistant Manager Branch Operations is responsible for managing trade operations, banking transactions, and regulatory compliance to ensure smooth financial and business operations at the Dubai branch. This role involves handling trade finance, banking relations, regulatory reporting, and compliance with UAE laws.
Key role elements include:
Trade Operations:
- Manage trade finance activities, including Letters of Credit (LCs), Bank Guarantees (BGs), and documentary collections.
- Work with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely execution of trade transactions. Work with the trade desk of the bank and follow up on the opening of LCs and other trade documentation.
- Keep a weekly check and report on audit receivables and credit given, raise flags, or update management/sales team if accounts are aging or due.
- Liaison with insurance companies to ensure insurance is covered at reasonable rates for all applicable goods and services.
- Keep track of all PDCs given and due dates and ensure amounts are available and blocked to ensure zero bounce.
- Work with the operations team for credit customer onboarding and to check their documents.
Banking:
- Maintain strong relationships with banks and financial institutions for smooth branch operations.
- Handle bank reconciliations, fund transfers, payment processing, and account management.
- Oversee foreign exchange transactions related to international trade operations.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and banking transactions, ensuring adequate liquidity.
- Make sure the bank rates and charges are correct. Work with the local branch managers to ensure no extra charges are needed.
- Prepare all documents and attestations on an ongoing basis to open bank accounts, add and delete signatories, and change bank account types.
- Reconcile all bank statements with accounts on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure all transactions have been properly recorded for compliance in the banking system.
- Make and Check banking transactions across accounts and make sure the correct fields have been entered in the system for compliance and accounts.
- Liaison with bank officers to ensure their systems are properly handling CRS and FACTA obligations and reporting the right information to the right place.
- Prepare and maintain all documentation for authority compliances such as DMCC, DED, DTA, and others as applicable.
- Keep track of all forex rates committed by banks across accounts, ensure they are being given, follow up if not, and see if something better can be done.
- Follow up with bank and customers to ensure wire transfers received match with invoices and amounts given and update operations and accounts team.
Regulatory and Compliance:
- Directly interface with DED and DMCC for documents and compliances. Ensure all documents submitted are consistent.
- Follow up for changes such as signatories, renewals, share capital issues, visa applications, and updates on other documentation.
- Ensure yearly compliances for companies are followed and submitted on time to relevant authorities.
- Ensure proper branch records are maintained for audit and inspection.
- Any other work/project assigned from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Candidate should have a minimum of five years of experience in trade operations and banking with a background in handling forex, and banking transactions.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- Strong knowledge of UAE banking regulations, trade finance, VAT laws, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience working with pharmaceutical trading, import/export operations, or regulated industries is a plus.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, financial software, and banking platforms.
Location: Dubai (Al Safa 1)
Working Days: 6 days in a week
Salary: 6k - 8k AED Per month
