Tower Crane Electrician
Job description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install electrical wiring, circuits, and components in new tower cranes according to manufacturer specifications and site requirements.
- Connect electrical systems to power sources and test for proper functioning.
- Perform regular inspections of electrical systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Diagnose and repair electrical problems, including faulty wiring, controls, motors, and lighting systems.
- Replace or repair electrical components as necessary to maintain crane operation.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify electrical issues.
- Conduct safety inspections to ensure electrical systems meet industry standards and regulations.
- Participate in safety training sessions and ensure all safety protocols are followed during electrical maintenance activities.
- Install upgrades and modifications to electrical systems as needed to improve crane performance or meet new standards.
- Work with crane operators to understand issues and determine the best course of action.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a tower crane mechanic.
- Additional Requirements:
- Proven experience as an electrician, preferably with tower cranes or similar heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and components.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with electrical diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles and safety standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Exposure to various weather conditions and construction site hazards.
- May involve working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies related to electrical maintenance and crane operation.
