Tile Mason / Tile Setter

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tile Mason to join our team. The Tile Mason will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various types of materials including ceramic, porcelain, marble, and natural stone.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tile Installation:
   Install tiles on floors, walls, and ceilings in residential and commercial buildings.
   Measure, cut, and arrange tiles in patterns, ensuring precise alignment and spacing.
   Apply adhesives or mortar to surfaces and tiles, ensuring a secure bond.
2. Surface Preparation:
   Inspect surfaces for cracks, damage, or irregularities, and prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and patching as needed.
   Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and properly prepared before installing tiles.
3. Tile Cutting:
   Cut tiles to fit around corners, fixtures, and obstructions using hand tools and power tools such as tile cutters and wet saws.
   Make custom cuts and shapes for decorative or functional purposes.
4. Grouting and Sealing:
   Apply grout between tiles and ensure grout lines are uniform and neat.
   Clean excess grout off tile surfaces and ensure grout is properly set and sealed.
   Apply sealant to grout joints and tiles to protect from moisture and stains.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

1. Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of experience as a tile mason or tile setter, with experience in both residential and commercial projects.
2. Skills:
   Proficiency in tile laying, cutting, grouting, and sealing.
   Knowledge of various types of tiles, adhesives, grout, and sealants.
   Ability to use hand tools (tile cutters, hammers, trowels) and power tools (wet saws, drills).
   Strong understanding of safety practices and building codes.
