The TETRA Engineer will report to Head of Care Management and Field Support as line manager and report to Project Manager as functional management. Localization of this job position: MEAI
Job Summary
The TETRA Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the inventory, installation, configuration (software and hardware), pre-testing, witness testing, commissioning, integration and maintenance activities undertaken are accurate, planned and carried out in line with standard processes.
The role of Tetra engineer evolves from the Design, Procurement, Implementation, commissioning to maintenance activities according to industry and customer standards. TETRA Engineer is accountable for Tetra Infrastructure, Terminals, and associated TETRA peripherals, plus to E1/IP Switches, Routers, and Voice Recorders, RF/low voltage test equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform site surveys, engineering analysis, and planning studies required to complete a successful Roll-Out.
- Prepare and determine material take-off /BOQ/BOM and equipment/material selection.
- Review and interpret Technical and schematic diagrams, project specifications documents.
- Perform the commissioning, configuration, integration pre-testing and testing of TETRA Networks.
- Identify faults and carry out corrective and planned maintenance.
- Perform preventive maintenance and health check of TETRA Network in line with the standard requirement and processes.
- Respond to emergency calls, troubleshoot the problem, recover the services, and collect the logs.
- Perform configuration / programming / presetting / testing / software upgrade.
- Build and update the configuration document of TETRA Networks.
- Report the task completion, work progress, problems, incidents, end user feedback.
- Exhibit agility to meet work requirements including immediate travel, long period travels, and multiple travels in sequence depending on task requirements.
- Act as the Regional Support Prime (RSP) which is the single point of contact for technical and maintenance incidents for all customers or local teams within Middle East/Africa/India (MEAI) and the customer’s representative regarding technical support.
- Confirm that each customer/network has an account in the CRM tools with the right access and right people.
- Define the KPIs in the CRM tools for each customer/network in MEAI as per the agreed SLAs.
- Monitor CRM tools for new incident tickets, evaluate the service impact of the incident, capture the symptoms from the customer, analyze and troubleshoot the problem, assign an expert to support incident resolution, and follow up until resolved and closed.

Profile Specifications
- A graduate of Electronics and Communications Engineering (BSECE).
- Computer literate (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Visio).
- Possess a valid driving license or International Driving License.
- Fluent written and spoken English skills.
- Field Working Experience for 5-10 years in modern wireless communications (PMR, TETRA, GSM and/or LTE).
- Knowledge in the implementation of trunk radio system (Infrastructure, Base Stations, Control Rooms, Microwave equipment, Multiplexers, Digital cross-connects).
- 3 Years field experience in Operation and Maintenance of wireless communications Network.
- Well understanding of TCP/IP protocols and Networks (LAN, WAN, VPN…).
- Technical writing skills to create commissioning reports, incident reports, processes and procedures.
- Experience in using Telecom Test Equipment (i.e. TETRA Radio Analyzer, RF Cable Measurement Tools, Spectrum Analyzer…).
Specific Knowledge Required
- Knowledge of different SW Environments (i.e VMWare, Linux, Jasper, Oracle…).
- TCP/IP Certified (i.e. CCNA, CCNP (Switching and Routers)…).
- Experience on Airbus Portfolio Equipment (DX200, DXT3, TB3, RCS9500, OM100, NetBoss, NetAct…).
