Role: Tester Trade Finance

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Location: Remote across India

Job Description:

As a Documentary Credit Trade Finance Tester, your primary role is to ensure the accuracy, functionality, and reliability of software and systems used in the trade finance industry, specifically related to documentary credit transactions. You will collaborate with Product Owners (conventional/Islamic), Managers, Development Teams, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders (Operations, Implementation Partners, Technology, etc.) to conduct thorough testing, identify issues, and provide recommendations for improvements in trade finance applications towards Islamic elements, terminologies, labels across platform (front and back end), and in results from platforms.

Responsibilities:

  1. Test Planning: Develop test plans, test cases/user stories, and test scripts for documentary credit trade finance software based on requirements from the product team.
  2. Execution: Execute manual and automated tests (as applicable) to verify requirements towards labels, terminologies, and other aspects.
  3. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of test results, defects, and test coverage.
  4. Defect Management: Report and track defects, work with technology partners to resolve issues, and retest after fixes.
  5. Regression Testing: Conduct regression testing to ensure that new developments do not negatively impact existing labels and terminologies across platforms.
  6. Compliance: Ensure that trade finance software complies with industry standards, regulations, and best practices from an Islamic perspective.
  7. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Technology, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance teams, and Advisory team.
  8. Reporting: Provide test status reports and communicate testing progress to stakeholders as applicable.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in the testing lifecycle.
  10. Domain Knowledge: Stay updated on documentary credit trade finance trends, regulations (GCC), and industry changes.

Qualifications:

  1. Hands-on Trade Finance Operations experience with customer interactions to understand the needs of the customer.
  2. Proven experience in software testing, preferably in the trade finance domain.
  3. Experience in handling Oracle Banking Trade Software applications (Frontend and Backend Applications).
  4. Knowledge of Trade Finance Islamic regulations as per Shariah governance.
  5. Knowledge of trade finance instruments such as letters of credit, letters of guarantees, documentary collections, trade loans, and trade-related regulations.
  6. Experience in performing UATs ensuring all Positive and Negative scenarios are executed.
  7. UI/UX and Customer Experience understanding.
